Through this organization, on a national, state, and local level, we participate in a nationwide program for action and service; "Circle of Love".
There are four main phases of this program:
RENEWAL...TO GOD AND SELF
APOSTOLATE...TO THOSE IN NEED
COMMUNITY...TO OUR FELLOW CITIZENS
YOUTH...TO OUR FUTURE HOPE
Our local court participates in all phases of the program. Our members are active in perpetual adoration and participate in prayer services at our monthly meetings. We help to support, monetarily and spiritually, the seminarians and religious students from our parish.
The National Projects we support are:
On the state level, we support Project Rainbow; which consists of CDA Kids, Disaster Relief, and Scholarships. In 2007 we contributed $1,500 to Habitat for Humanity to be used on houses being built in Louisiana. CDA Kids is a program to assist children with life-threatening illnesses; one child is selected from each diocese.
Locally, we give a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Moss Bluff. We support Pro-Life and give a monthly contribution to New Life Counseling as well as an annual baby shower.
Each Thanksgiving and Christmas, our members are responsible for the food drive and basket distribution to the needy families in our area. This is by far our most important charity project of the year. We involve much of the community through the donations of food and helping to prepare the baskets. As many as 75 baskets have been given to families at Christmas. This generosity is a true representation of Charity, not only for the Court, but for our community as well. Members of the Court of the Visitation #1999 are active in the many ministries of St. Theodore Parish, serving as Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers, and many other areas of parish activities such as the Confirmation Reception, May Crowning, and Priest Appreciation.
Meetings are at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month, in the Education Building Library.
